Lorene Benson, 76, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Benson was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of the Church of Christ.

The graveside service was Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Belgreen Cemetery with Keith Barnett officiating.

Survivors include husband, Dayton Benson; daughters, Debbie Benson and Shirley Seal; special son, Chris Hilderbrand; sisters, Jean Hilderbrand, June Basco, Jimmie Lou Slaughter, and Ruby Musgrove; brothers, J.C. Sparks, Charles Sparks, and George Sparks; special grandson, Adam Hilderbrand.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Eura Lee Sparks; brother, Wayne Sparks.

Special thanks to staff of Terrace Manor Nursing Home, Hospice of North Alabama, doctors and staff of Northwest Alabama Cancer Center and Dr. Kenneth Rose.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
