It’s good to see players giving back

This past Friday I saw 10 people selflessly giving their time to not only give instruction to the next generation of baseball players, but to instill the passion they have for the game in the younger kids who look up to them.

I’m speaking of course of the clinic put on by former Russellville All-Stars for the benefit of the current team. I’m sure those youngsters were both excited and proud to be taught by a group of guys who were in their shoes just a decade ago.

I have never seen a such an event put on, where former players come to help out a little league team in order to give back to the community.

The event was a great success, and I’m sure that  everyone is better off for it.
