Vera Mae Barnes, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Generations of Red Bay. She was a native of Mississippi and a seamstress for 25 years.

Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Ray Kirk officiating. Burial was in Joel Cemetery, Dennis, Miss.

He is survived by two children, Don Barnes, of Iuka, Miss., and Katrina Ashton, of Columbus, Miss.; two sisters, Linda Folks and Myrtle Humphres, both of Red Bay; one brother, Chet Brown, of Golden, Miss.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Addis and Allie Ivy Brown, her husband, Earnon Barnes, and a twin brother, Addis Ray Brown.
