Please take a moment to help Phil Campbell’s band

Few people realize the costs involved in running a music program at a school. Between instruments, uniforms and sheet music starting a small band can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

The Phil Campbell band has received several generous donations since the April tornado that destroyed much of the program’s assets. While the assistance has been appreciated, there is still quite a bit to be done, but the band has a plan.

The band has entered the “Give a Note” contest sponsored by the television show “Glee” in an effort to win one of three $50,000 grand prizes for the program.

The Franklin County Times encourages residents throughout the county to give a helping hand to the Phil Campbell band by visiting http://www.gleegiveanote.com/vote_details.php?id=236 to vote for the high school band and http://gleegiveanote.com/vote_details.php?id=26 to vote for the elementary school band.

Support for the Phil Campbell community has been outstanding since this tragedy struck, and this is a simple way to continue to offer support to community still trying to rebuild.
