Hackleburg rolls past Tharptown

THARPTOWN — Tharptown fell behind early and could not rally as Hackleburg cruised to a 41-12 victory Friday night.

The Panthers led 27-0 by halftime and held Tharptown scoreless until Blake Gray connected with Edgar Bahena on a 50-yard touchdown pass with 4:30 remaining in the third quarter.

Hackleburg answered, but the Wildcats (0-6, 0-4) used some strong running by Mike Rice to put together another scoring drive in the fourth quarter. Rice completed the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Tharptown (0-6, 0-4) travels to R.A. Hubbard next week.
