Christene Whitehead, 81, of Hackleburg died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Lakeland Community Hospital.  She was a member of Hackleburg United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 5, 2011 at Hackleburg United Methodist Church with Rev. George Gravitte and Bro. Jim Baccus officiating. Interment was in Cedar Tree Cemetery.  Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Whitehead; parents, Spencer Hyde and Clyde Bates Hyde; three daughters, Judy, Sharon and Gail; three brothers; one grandson, Sean. 

She is survived by a daughter, Teresia Burleson and husband, Neal; very special daughter-in-law, Jerida Whitehead; brother, Ben Hyde and wife, Nettie Ruth; three grandsons, Brannon and wife, Jessica, Patrick and wife, Jessica, Tyler and wife, Kristy; four very special great-grandchildren, Garrett, Tooter-bug Ava, Reagan, Hannah; a host of nieces and nephews.
