AHSAA alters sports schedules

The Alabama High School Athletic Association announced Thursday that all playoff events throughout the state have been postponed until Monday.

Russellville’s baseball series at Athens will begin with a doubleheader Monday afternoon with the third game being played Tuesday if needed. Third round games will be May 6-7 as originally scheduled.

Area tournaments for softball will be played any time between Monday and Friday.

Section golf tournaments will begin Monday based on course availability. Sub-state tournaments will be played as originally scheduled.

All section track meets will be Monday and Tuesday with qualifiers advancing to the state meet May 6-7.
