Mr. Ordy Leon McAlister, 95, of Russellville, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
Mr. McAlister was born in Franklin County to Charles Edward McAlister and Gertrude Steele McAlister. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1936 and served in the European Theatre during World War II in the Army Air Corp.
Mr. McAlister was an active member of the V.F.W. and the First United Methodist Church of Russellville. He was retired from the City of Russellville Water Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Otis, Lano, Buel and Verlon.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gladys Daniels McAlister, sisters, Earlene McAlister Pace, of Akron, Ohio, and Cathlene McAlister Hill and husband, Henry, of Brewton, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Knights of Pythias Cemetery with Rev. Clint Busler officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service. There will be no visitation.
