A.C. “Chicken” Wilson, 83, of Russellville, Ala. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at Akins Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Lenox, Dr. Wade Wallace and Rev. Clinton Busler officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were Greg Pierce, J.O. Taylor, Larry McWilliams, Mitchell Reynolds, James Ashley Renfroe, and Jimmy McCullough. Honorary pallbearer was John Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; grandson, James Tracey Taylor; son-in-law, Danny R. Pierce.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Frances Wilson of Russellville; daughters, Dianne Pierce McWilliams and husband, Larry, of Muscle Shoals, Judy Wilson Taylor and husband, J.O., of Russellville; grandchildren, Greg Pierce and wife, Alison, Ginger Pierce Reynolds and husband, Mitchell, all of Russellville, Stephanie Taylor Renfroe and husband, James Ashley, of Pelham; great-grandchildren, Hannah, John Gregory, and Elizabeth Pierce, Lauren and Peyton Reynolds, all of Russellville, Shelby and Emma Renfroe, of Pelham; best friend, Ollie Thornton.
He was born on January 11, 1928, in Franklin County, Alabama to Albert and Viola Wilson. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Russellville and Masonic Lodge of 371.
