Calloway commits to Auburn
Russellville running back Brent Calloway has been a verbal commitment to the University of Alabama since the summer following his sophomore season.
Saturday at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Calloway decided not to roll with the Tide and opted to commit to Auburn.
While making his announcement during the game Calloway said he liked the coaches and the campus.
“I love it there,” he said. “It fits my personality.”
Calloway rushed for 1,973 yards and scored 29 touchdowns for the Golden Tigers this season. He also spent time at linebacker.
Calloway played linebacker in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl as well as the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic in December.
Alabama had been recruiting Calloway to play defense while Auburn was reportedly wanting him as a running back.
