Maxine Thomas Long, 83, of Red Bay, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at the Red Bay Hospital.  She was born March 15, 1927 in Mississippi to Cliff and Opal Bernice Thornton Thomas and was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Coye Marbutt and Bro. Billy Turbyfill officiating.  Burial was in Ridge Cemetery in Golden, Miss.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Long Lindley and husband, Kevin, of Dennis, Miss.; three sons, Dickey Thomas Long and wife, Tonya, of Golden, Miss., Jeffrey Arlin Long and wife, Patti, of Belmont, Miss. and C.D. Long, of Benton, Ark.; three sisters, Brenda Elliott and husband, Jack, of Red Bay, Coreese Gray and husband, Harvey, of Golden, Miss. and Rose Wiska and husband, Pat, of Deerborn, Mich.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adell Long; her parents; sister, Bernice Puckett; and two brothers, W.C. Thomas and Floyd Thomas.

Pallbearers were Bradley Long, Brandon Long, Bruce Coats, Randy Elliott, Tracy Elliott and Zack Morizo.
