Grants help schools grow during time of proration
One of the biggest concerns for parents during the past couple of years is the funding lost for schools through proration and how the loss of that money would affect their child’s chances at receiving a quality education.
Fortunately schools have been able to manage these budget cuts with grants.
Tharptown Elementary received one of these grants earlier this week from the Northwest Alabama Resource Conservation and Development Council. That grant will allow the school to build an outdoor classroom.
It is good to see that in tough economic times like this there are avenues available to expand the learning experience beyond the classroom and textbooks.
Hopefully school administrators will be able capitalize on each grant opportunity available to provide the students of Franklin County with the best possible education by opening up new areas of learning these grants offer.
