Reclaim the county’s roads from old campaign signs

The campaign signs throughout the county have reminded Franklin County residents for several months this is an election year in which several state and local offices are up for grabs.

They also made the county look like a massive box of crayons has melted along its roads.

While this problem will not be completely solved until after the general election in November, it should get a little better following Tuesday’s primary election.

With several candidates fighting for the same place on the ballot the number and variety of signs is overwhelming. Now that each office has two candidates, the variety of signs along the county’s roads should diminish in a few weeks.

We would like to remind the candidates that failed to advance, and their supporters, to remove campaign signs in a timely manner so that the county’s natural beauty can begin shining through again.
