Morris “Skully” Borden

Morris “Skully” Borden, 85, of Russellville passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Russellville Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Pastor Pearl Shelton officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Opal Borden; first wife, Velma Borden; twin brother, Marvin Borden; and sisters, Reba George, Ila Riley and Ida Cummings.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Borden; children, Kathrine Huckaba, Morris Buddy Borden, Sue Borden and husband, Reecie, and Kenneth Borden; brothers, Lee Borden and Hayes Borden; step-children, Jewell Thrasher, Gail Owens and husband, Randy, Carolyn Landers and husband, Dave, Billy Edmond and Marvin Edmond; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The honorary pallbearers will be Rick corbel, Donnie Hargett, Bruce Fantiane, Ricky Patterson, Cody Patterson, Buddy Brown, Robert Brown, Billy Huckaba, Robert Quade and Vernon Hall.
Hershel Hubert Todd

Hershel Hubert Todd, 81, of Russellville passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Russellville Hospital.
The visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow in the chapel with Bro. Clint Busler and Bobby Bolton officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Todd; parents, Calvin and Jennie Todd; step-son, Joey Bryant; three sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Todd; son, Dennis Todd; daughter, Susan Todd and husband, Ed; step-daughters, Sherry Barnett and husband, Jack, Patricia Kuykendall and husband, Joey, and Tina Raper; brother, Charles Todd; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joey R. Kuykendall, Kevin Bryant, Abraham Goggins, Timothy Raper, Robert Freemon and Randy Hester. Honorary pallbearer will be Neal Taylor.
Charles Ray Vernon, Jr.

Charles Ray Vernon, Jr., 43, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mike Westphal officiating. Interment will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Vernon; sister, Cynthia Vernon; brothers, Douglas Vernon and Michael Vernon.
He is survived by his son, Michael Vernon; daughters, Brittney Vernon and Kristie Vernon; father, Charles Ray Vernon, Sr.; two brothers, Randy Lee Vernon and wife, Tina, and Thomas Ray Vernon; two sisters, Deborah Lewis and Mary Lewis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
James Hamilton

James Hamilton, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Winston-Tiggs Cemetery in Russellville.
Thompson and Son Funeral Home in Tuscumbia assisted the family.
Audrey I. Cooper

Audrey I. Cooper, 93, of Dublin, Ga., formerly of Belgreen, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at her residence.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at Akins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jackie Richardson officiating. Ms. Cooper will be laid to rest in Belgreen Cemetery beside her late parents, Joe W. Cooper and Esther Taylor Cooper.
Pallbearers for her ceremony will include Neil Taylor Jr., Gerald Ray Hester, Wayne Hester and Bill Hester.
Ms. Cooper is survived in death by her cousin and best friend; H. Neil Taylor; several cousins; special friend and caregiver, Sara Tolbert; and many friends in Dublin, Ga.
She was a strong and robust individual with a sharp wit; a retired registered nurse who devoted her life caring for our veterans and working for the government for over 50 years. Her last post was Dublin’s Veteran’s Hospital. She attended East Moore Church of Christ in Dublin, Ga.
Her close friends will have a memorial service in Dublin, Ga., to celebrate her life. Date and time of celebration to be announced.
Ms. Tolbert and cousins express their thanks to Serenity Care Hospice, especially her care givers, Lesa Davis, Lisa Dimmer, Tammi Brooks, Ella Mack and Mary Sumblin for their consideration and love and care of Ms. Audrey.
