Tigers get first road test of 2009

RED BAY – The Red Bay football team opened the season with a pair of impressive wins.
The Tigers blanked Lee 34-0 and knocked off Westminster Christian Academy 38-17. Both games were at home.
This week the Tigers hit the road for a region game against Hatton.
The Hornets (0-2, 0-1) are looking for their first win of the season after being shutout 35-0 by Danville then dropping a close 23-20 game to Cherokee.
The Red Bay offense has been impressive in the early part of the season. After struggling to find rhythm in 2008, the Tigers are scoring in bunches this season.
The offense recorded nearly 600 yards of total offense against WCA last week.
Of course the defense has also been a key to the Tigers' success, shutting out a 5A Lee squad and keeping WCA from rolling up points.
The young team will get its first taste of a hostile crowd Friday, as the Hornets' players and fans will surely be hungry for a win.
Red Bay is looking to improve to 2-0 in region play and 3-0 overall.
The game begins at 7 p.m.
