Floyd E. Tyra, 100, of Haleyville, died July 21, 2009, at Lakeland Community Hospital.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville. The funeral followed inside the Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville.
Sheila Jo Balentine Ligon

Sheila Jo Balentine Ligon, 53, of Florence, died Tuesday, July 21 at her residence.
Visitiation was Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral service was in the Greenview Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Ted Vafeas officiated. Interment was at Greenview Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, John Ligon; parents Jimmy Carl and Nancy Jo Gibson Balentine; step-sons Chris Ligon and Jason Belew; daughter, Jasmine Breanna Murphy; step-daughter Kelly Grigsby Tate; brothers, Butch and Danny Balentine; grandchildren Michael Schooley, Kevin and Joseph Belew; step-grandchildren Nick, Allyssa and Jewel Grigsby.
Pallbearers were Butch Balentine, Danny Balentine, Jonathan Hill, David Belew, Jason Belew and Chris Lion.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Keeler, Gary Mitchell and William Whitehead.
Ila Gertrude Gilley

Ila Gertrude Gilley, 94, of Russellville, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Russellville Hospital.
Visitation was from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, July 23 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Funeral followed in the chapel at 4 p.m. The Rev. A.G. Stapp officiated. Interment was in Spruce Pine Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, J.D. Gilley; granddaughters, Tammy James and Karla Gilley; grandson Mike Gilley; great-grandchildren, Chris James, Brandon James, Heather Galloway, Hannah James and J.T. Gilley; six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Russellville Healthcare for their love and tender care and gives special thanks to Dr. Kelly.
Bo Clay

V. Bo Raymond Clay, 53, Creedmoor, N.C., formerly of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2009.
The 2 p.m. graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Lee Memorial Park, Verona, Miss. Interment will be in Lee Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Clay; grandparents, Aaron and Minnie Vic Criddle.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Matthews Clay; parents, Franklin D. and Shirley Clay; brothers, Rickey Clay, Franklin Clay, Jr., Mike Clay; step-daughters, Cathy Edward, Christine Pollard; 12 step-grandchildren; one step-great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
The family extends special thanks to Andrea Anderson and Heartland Hospice of Durham, N.C., and Akins Funeral Home.
Donnie Haney

Donnie Ray Haney, age 62, died July 18, 2009 at the Huntsville Hospital. He was born March 10, 1947 in Alabama to Raymond and Dora Thornburg Haney. He was the shope foreman and diesel mechanic for STI in Red Bay, and was a member and Sunday school teacher at Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 20 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Matthew Haney, Bro. Jerry George and Bro. Scott Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Antioch cemetery.
Mr. Haney is survived by wife of 43 years, Betty Haney, of Dennis, Miss.; sons, Michael Haney (Sandy) of Burnesville, Miss.; Matthew Haney (Carissa) and Jonathan Haney (Lacey), all of Blemont, Miss; grandchildren, Ashley Ross (Greg), Cari Beth Haney, Case Haney, Cali Haney, and Cade Haney; great grandchildren, Gavin Ross and Presley Kate Ross; sisters, Shirley Lindley (David), Dollie Robinson, Sue Kuykendall, and Wilma Ashley (Johnny), all of Red Bay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Wanda Charlotte Haney; father and mother-in-law, Orville and Ruth Ewing; brothers-in-law, T.C. Robinson and Bobby Ewing.
Pallbearers for the service included Jason Taylor, Daryl Ewing, Ben Spigner, Rodney Kuykendall, Allen Lindley, Tim Lindley, Benny Kuykendall, Donald Kuykendall, Glendon Ashley and Randy Goddard. Honorary pallbearers included Lloyd "Peanut" Rhodes, Robert Holland, Doug Boyd, John Dabbs, and Baxter Nunley.
Dennis Kelly

Dennis Ray Kelly, age 45, of Haleyville, died July 22, 2009 at his home. He attended Old Trinity Baptist Church in Haleyville.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 24, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Bro. Billy Brasher, Royce Brimer and John McDonnell officiating. Burial was in the Botush Cemetery in Haleyville.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his mother, Marth Altman Dye; father and stepmother, Rayford and Sue Kelly; children, Derrick Kelly, Jeremy Kelly, Josh Kelly, and Emily Kelly; sister, Clarissa Martin; brother, Greg Kelly; step brothers, Jerry Jay Waid and Gary Waid; grandchild, Garrett Blake Kelly; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Carey Waid.
Martha Bostick

Martha Ree Bullen Bostick, age 85, died July 23, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 20, 1923 in Iuka, Miss. to Omer J. and Myrtle Berry Bullen. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Red Bay.
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Mike Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Red Bay City Cemetery.
Ms. Bostick is survived by her children, Harriett Daniel (James) of Muscles Shoals, John Bostick (Pam) and Alan Bostick (Margoth), all of Red Bay, and Jill Bostick of Tupleo; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her beloved caregivers, Sheila Lofton, Sherry Williams, Jessica Sides, Patsy Hammock, Debra Phifer, and Sarah Horton.
Pallbearers for the service will include Donnie Wilson, Ricky Dees, Terry Bolding, Jerry Taylor, Charles Holland, and Larry Creekmore. Honorary pallbearers will be Carmen "Gib" Childers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gordon Bostick, and her parents.
