Dealing with anger can be difficult

This week I have been struggling with a very basic human emotion: Anger.
Most people get angry on a regular basis, but it's the way they deal with their anger that really matters since everyone gets angry from time to time.
It's been my experience there are two kinds of anger.
One is the kind that just aggravates you, but you can manage.
And, then, there's fighting mad.
This week, I have been fighting mad. When I get angry, people usually know it because I can't hide it.
It starts with a rise in my blood pressure. It's not noticeable at first, but, then, if I don't shrug it off, my blood pressure skyrockets.
Once my blood pressure gets up there, the headache starts and my face gets red. Sometimes I cry when I am this angry as a way to deal.
A lot of people label a crying female as emotional or a basket case.
But, what they fail to realize is sometimes you have to just get it out without violence.
So in those cases, I cry.
There's a lot of well-put-together, professional women who do the same to deal with their anger.
If you ask me, everyone should cry to deal with anger.
This way there would be fewer victims of child abuse and domestic violence. There will probably be fewer assaults and murders as well since these acts usually start out with someone being angry.
I'm not justifying these actions.
I feel there is no excuse for any violent crime.
But, everyone has the right be angry.
Usually once I cry a few minutes to release the stress of the anger, then I am O.K. and I usually move on.
This week, it was hard for me to just move on.
A good friend helped by telling me that I shouldn't let anything bother me because we don't have time to deal with adolescent behavior.
I agree with her.
I am a wife, a mother, and a reporter, and I don't have the time or energy to deal with what I see as another person's problem.
So the next time I get angry, I'm going to do my best to smile at the person who made me angry and say 'I don't have time to deal with your adolescent behavior but have a nice day.'
That seems to be a good way of handling anger, it certainly is much better than alternatives that others choose.
