Local church publishes book

A local church recently published a new cookbook compiled of favorite recipes from church members, family and friends.
Isbell United Methodist Church published "Timeless Treasures from the Heart" which includes a history of the community and over 500 recipes.
The book contains more than a dozen pages of memories with a history of Isbell and the surrounding area. Recipes contributors also passed along notes regarding relatives, friends and other contributors.
The cookbook also contains humorous fillers, as well as inspirational quotations.
"It is sure to become a well-used and much appreciated keepsake," said church member Patty Moon Woodruff.
The book contains 550 well-loved recipes including appetizers, soups, salads, main dishes, desserts and arts and crafts.
"Timeless Treasures" has more than 450 pages and features a full-color hardbound cover, alphabetized index, 16 pages of cooking, serving and household hints, as well as poetry regarding housekeeping, gardening, Southern ways or "the good ol' days."
