Dire situation eased by brave responders

There are several men and women across north Alabama who deserve a heart-felt pat on the back.
Emergency response personnel from several agencies put themselves in danger Thursday morning fighting a fire at a local gas distributorship.
There were many tense moments and it often seemed that a major explosion could have occurred at any time.
These people, many of which are our neighbors, friends, fellow church members and family, went though the motions bravely just like any other day on the job.
We too often take these people in our community for granted, but they truly are heroes and each one deserves our gratitude.
