Basketball roundup

The highly anticipated start of the season for the Russellville varsity boys basketball team was postponed. The game, against Hartselle, has been rescheduled for Dec. 22. The Golden Tigers home debut will now be Dec. 13 as they host Sparkman.
Hatton 80,
Phil Campbell 65
Lawrence Butts scored 17 points for the Bobcats while Austin Nix added 14 during Phil Campbell's 80-65 loss to Class 2A, Area 14 foe Hatton.
Hamilton 64,
Red Bay 38
Steven Nabers led the Tigers with nine points in a losing effort.
Phillips 78,
Vina 48
Cass White scored 16 points for the Red Devils as Vina fell to Class 1A, Area 15 foe Phillips.
Deshler 24,
RMS 7th 19
Lucas Witt scored six points to lead the Golden Tigers.
Deshler 31,
RMS 8th 21
Caleb Robinson led the Russellville Middle School eighth grade boys with six points.
Girls
Belgreen 56,
Mt. Hope26
The Belgreen varsity girls improved to 7-0 with a 56-26 victory against Mount Hope in a Class 1A, Area 15 game.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 21-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Amber Smith led Belgreen with 13 points while Loren McVicker scored 10.
The Lady Bulldogs will host Vina tonight.
Red Bay 68,
Hamilton 54
Whitney Sharp scored 21 points to lead the Lady Tigers past Hamilton while Morgan Duncan added 17 points. Red Bay improves to 5-2 with the win.
Hatton 58,
Phil Campbell 53
Caitlin Stancil led the Lady Bobcats with 33 points.
