    Phyllis A. Byram, 64, of Russellville died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 at Russellville Hospital.
    Mrs. Byram was a native of Kingsport, Tenn., but had lived in this area for the past six years. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. View Freewill Baptist Church in Russellville.
    The funeral service will be Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Bro. John Barton and Bro. John Fike officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Red Bay.
    Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    She is survived by her husband, James D. Byram of Russellville; children, Teresa R. Rogers of Kingsport, Tenn., Carla A. Byram of Sunbright, Tenn. and J. Philip Byram of Russellville; brother, Charles Gene Kennedy of Belmont, Miss.; sisters, Effie Eulene Turman of Russellville; Margie Lee Pharr of Belmont, Miss. and Patricia Ann McCalpin of Russellville; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lequata R. Hammonds.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, George A. and Leona Coates Fowler; daughter, Andrea J. Burkheart; brothers, Virgil Kennedy, James W. Kennedy, Nealy Kennedy, Lewis Kennedy and Ted Fowler; and sister, Reba Hensley.
    Pallbearers will be nephews and nieces.

    Betty Louise Stockton, 72, of Russellville passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 at Russellville Hospital.
    Mrs. Stockton lived her entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Russellville.
    The funeral service was held Sept. 9 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Stanley Hargett officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
    She is survived by her husband, Titus Stockton; children, Vickie Sutton and husband Bryan, Mark Stockton and wife Beth and Terry Stockton and wife Susie, all of Russellville; grandchildren, Chess Stockton and wife Shellie, Hannah Stockton and Anna Grace Sutton; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Grace Nelson.

    Paul Allen Hester
    September 5, 2008
    Paul Allen Hester, 50, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 at his residence in Vina. He was born Jan. 5, 1958 in Tennessee to Roy Lee and Mary Helen Jones Hester. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Randy Hester.
    A memorial service was held Sept. 8 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Wayne Bumgart officiating.
    He is survived by his son, Aaron Hester of Lebanon, Tenn., two granddaughters, Bailey Hester and Shyann Hester; father, Roy Lee Hester of Vina; sisters, Regina Pardue of Vina, Cindy Robbins (Toby) and Tonya Horan (Robert), both of Tampa, Fla.; brother, David Hester (Liz) of Red Bay; nephews, Sammy Pardue of Vina and Adam Hester of Golden, Miss.; and first wife, Vikki Heydel of Labanon, Tenn.

    Jeffrey O'Neal Anderson
    September 5, 2008
    Jeffrey O'Neal Henderson, 47, of Haleyville passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 at Lakeland Community Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Double Springs.
    The funeral service was Sept. 7 at Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville with Bro. Hugh Cavender officiating.
    He is survived by his sons, Adam O'Neal Anderson and John Tyler Anderson; mother, Barbara Brewer; stepfather, Rayburn Anderson; sisters, Mitzi (Ken) Thrasher and Lisa Lovett; grandchildren, Eli Peyton Adnerson and Dawson Anderson; aunt, Onease Fuller; cousin, Ricky Fuller; nieces, Nina Chandler, Lily Lovett and Sophia Lovett; nephews, Cameron Lovett and Troy Lovett; and great-nephews, Jake and Ty Chandler.
    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bartow and Lithie Anderson and Arthur Lee and Viola Haynes.

    Ernie Hugh Sanderson

    Ernie Hugh Sanderson, 68, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at his residence in Vina. He was born Nov. 10, 1939 in Marion County to George Wesley and Maudine Arthur Sanderson. he was an employee of Munsingwear.
    Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Marshall Emerson officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery.
    He is survived by his wife, June Sanderson of Vina; children, Fran Hooper of Destin, Fla., Roark Childers of Vina and Dawn Hutcheson of Birmingham; sister, Judy Henderson of Foley; half-sister, Virgie Campbell of Gulf Shores; half-brother, Woody Sanderson of Elberta; and grandchildren, Emily Hooper, Sarah Hooper, Chase Childers and Channing Childers.
    Pallbearers were Roark Childers, Chase Childers, Jeff Childers, Hershel Rye, Coy Tucker and Jimmy Johnson. The honorary pallbearer was Junior Barrett.

    Riley Barksdale
    August 27, 2008
    Riley O'Neal Barksdale, 90, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at Red Bay Hospital. He was born June 26, 1918 in Franklin County to William and Mary Francis Rollins Barksdale. He was a heavy equipment operator and was a veteran of the U.S Army serving in World War II.
    Funeral services were held Aug. 29 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Wayne Bumgart and Bro. Billy Credille officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery in Vina.
    He is survived by his children, Curtis O'Neal Barksdale (Cheryl) of Greenwood Springs, Miss.; Marie Cole, David Barksdale (Mary) and Bobby Barksdale (Gale), all of Red Bay; and Joel Barksdale and Lebern Barksdale, both of Russellville; grandchildren, Michael Cole, Charlie Barksdale, Melissa Wilkerson, Chris Barksdale and Steven Barksdale; and 12 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Barksdale, parents and eight brothers and sisters.
    Pallbearers were Michael Cole, Chris Barksdale, Steven Barksdale, Derek Cole, Matthew Cole and Jordan Barksdale.

    Opal Elrod Stidham
    August 25, 2008
    Opal Elrod Stidham, 83, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008 at her residence in Vina. She was born Oct. 21, 1924 in Alabama to William and Mary Alice George Elrod. She was a homemaker and she loved to quilt. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
    Funeral services were held Aug. 28 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Bobby Stancil and Bro. Manuel Jackson officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery in Vina.
    She is survived by her sons, Kennth Stidham (Barbara) of Vina, Billy Stidham (Nancy) of Golden, Miss., Ricky Stidham (Alisa) of Hackleburg and Jimmy Strawbridge of Red Bay; daughters, Carolyn Mason (Alben) of Golden, Miss., Joyce Senter (Ray) Fulton, Miss. and Sandra Armstrong (Tony) of Red Bay; step-son, Donald Stidham Foster (Donnis) of Monticello, Miss., brother, James McCalmon of Marietta, Miss., sister, Marvalene Kingsley of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Stidham, five sisters, three brothers and one great-grandson.
    Pallbearers were Gene Mason, Dean Mason, Johnny Mason, Anthony Stidham, Joel Horton and Chris Senter.

    Gracie S. McFadden, 97, of Golden, Miss., died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008 at Red Bay Hospital. She was born Nov. 10, 1910 in Itawamba County, Miss., to Joshua and Doshie Presley Steele. She was a housewife and the oldest member of Antioch Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at Antioch Baptist Church in Golden Miss., with Bro. Dean Warren and Bro. Marc Howard officiating. Burial wa in Fairview Cemetery.
    She is survived by her children, Flora Bell McFadden Smith of Zion, Ill., Charles McFadden and Ornell McFadden Farris (Kenneth), both of Golden, Miss., and Marvin McFadden (Shirley) of Plantersville, Miss.; daughter-in-law, Becky McFadden, of Ecru, Miss.; grandchildren, Robert Smith, Rick Smith (Jackie), Ronnie Smith (Tammy), Connie McFadden (Frances), Margaret McFadden Harris, Tommy Farris (Barbara), Angela Farris Richardson (Chris), Brenda Farris Richardson (Greg), Judith McFadden Housley (Wayne), Rose McFadden Forrester (William) and John Messer (Marsha); six step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dewey McFadden; son, Orbie McFadden; son-in-law, Doyle Smith; granddaughter-in-law, Cathy Smith; great-grandsons, Brandon Lee Farris and Chance Horton; sisters, Lou Steele, George Mae Jones, Carlee Cromeans and Lillian Robberson; brother, Waggle Steele; five half-brothers; and five half-sisters.
    Pallbearers were Tommy Farris, Ronnie Smith, Rick Smith, Connie McFadden, Lee Farrris, Brent Harris and Brad Harris. Honorary pallbearers were J.W. Steele, John Messer, Chris Richardson, Greg Richardson, Wayne Housley, William Forrester and Jeremy McFadden.

    Gwendolyn Belcher
    August 24, 2008
    Gwendolyn Mitchell Belcher, 74, of Vina died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 at Red Bay Hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1933 to the late Robert and Zanie Mays Mitchell in Franklin County. She and her husband, Arlie, have resided at the Care Center of Red Bay for the past four years. She was a member of Pearlie Gates Church of God of Prophecy.
    She worked for Itawamba Manufacturing Co. prior to her retirement. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter and a wonderful cook. She was a devoted, loving wife to her husband of 53 years. Before her health failed, she loved attending church and worshipping her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
    Funeral services were held Aug. 26 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Billy West officiating. Burial was in Shottsville Cemetery.
    She is survived by her husband, Arlie Belcher of Vina; sister, Edna Hamrick of Nettleton, Miss.; sisters-in-law, Katie Belcher of Okolona, Miss., Donna Collins of Tremont, Miss., Christine Shotts of Hamilton and Nora Mae Parrish of Detroit, Mich.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
    Pallbearers were Royce Miller, Wayne Miller, Junior Scott, David Shotts and Alive Miller. Honorary pallbearers were James Shotts, Doyle Belcher and Berlon Belcher.
    Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.

    August 22, 2008
    Alan Keith Lindley, 46, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008 at his residence in Red Bay. He was born July 11, 1962 in Illinois to Keiffer Billy and Barbara Jones Lindley. He was a Navy fireman for 11 years.
    He is survived by his daughters, Keitha Lindley of Hamilton and Tasheena Pettigrew (Jason) of Tremont, Miss.; sister, Shelia Lindley of Iuka, Miss.; brothers, Michael Lindley and Jeff Lindley, both of Red Bay; grandchildren, Morgan Michelle Gann, Ethan Fretwell and Brooklyn Pettigrew.
    There were no funeral services.
