Tharptown falls again in region game
By Staff
Hazlewood proved too strong and too fast for Tharptown Thursday as the Golden Bears defeated the Wildcats 48-0.
Hazlewood scored on the second play of the game and never looked back.
Despite the loss, Tharptown coach Barry Laster said he noticed quite a bit of improvement in his team since last week's 41-8 loss to Speake.
"The scoreboard didn't show it, but I saw a lot of improvement," Laster said. "Pass protection was better and we were able to move the ball better."
Hazlewood led 21-0 after the first quarter and pushed the lead to 28-0 at the half. The Golden Bears added two more scores in the third and scored their final touchdown with 3:09 remaining in the game.
