Program helps children in need

Give a Kid a Chance is a back to school outreach ministry held in Florence for area children. The ministry provides personalized back-to-school supplies, clothing, shoes, and other services. The group sets aside one day each year near the beginning of school to provide supplies and services.
Children form all areas of Colbert, Lauderdale, and Franklin counties in Alabama and some from adjacent counties in Tennessee have benefitted from the program.
This is a ministry that will have far reaching implications in the lives of the children they reach.
Hundreds of area children received essential items they needed for school. But what they also got was a first-hand lesson in the love that people have for them.
The organization is not well-known in many circles throughout northwest Alabama, but the care, generosity and love they provide needs to be shared.
In today's world, that is something special.
