Spec building could help city
By Staff
The city industrial park will finally get the shot in the arm it has been looking for.
The Russellville City Council agreed to fund a spec building for the Russellville Industrial Park Monday night.
The council appropriated $500,000 to build the building so potential industries will have a visual of what Russellville can offer industries. Most all major industries looking for a place to move want to see a place they can move right into and begin working.
The county has not had that to offer for some time.
The financial support for a spec building is a step in the right direction on the city's behalf.
However, there is still plenty to do before landing a suitable tenant.
Other agencies must also step up and join the effort. That appears to be happening.
It is time this county learned from others nearby that working together is the only way to accomplish the things we need.
This is one step in the right direction for all of us.
