Often times we get so busy in our daily lives that we fail to notice how blessed we are to live in such a wonderful country.
Not only are we fortunate to live in the greatest and most blessed nation in the world, we, here in Franklin County, are blessed beyond what we deserve.
There are so many good and wonderful things about our county that we just don't see from time to time.
We have been busy working on several things here at the FCT in recent weeks that have made me see how lucky we are.
Whether it's the feature stories profiling some of our people or the ones about the beautiful lakes and canyons we have, there is always some reminder of what we have.
People from other areas of the country, or even this state, may overlook us for a number of reasons, but that's not our loss.
Franklin County is full of unique people and places.
Our staff here is made up of a group of people that have always called Franklin County home and they work hard to make sure their county is appreciated for what it is.
There is no shortage of good stories out there to be told.
I hope that if anyone knows of something or someone out there whose story needs to be shared, please let us know.
Our staff writers, Melissa Cason and Kim West, two people who did not grow up in this county, have adopted it as their own and have given of themselves to help the people here.
Their love of Franklin County is evident each day as I hear them talking about what stories they are working on. Sometimes you have to tell a story as it is, whether it's good news or not. That's just journalism.
Our goal will always be to keep the people of this county informed about the happenings that shape their lives.
The 2008 edition of Franklin County's Faces and Places will be coming to you soon and we hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed working on it for you.
Our advertising staff and composers put a great deal of work into it to make sure that those advertising will gain from running with us.
That magazine will be distributed around the state for people to catch a glimpse of what Franklin County is all about.
It's time we shared our Faces and Places with the rest of the world.
