This Tuesday the Russellville Fire Department will host a blood drive to fund local blood banks.
When you donate blood, you donate more than just red liquid. You are donating life because the blood you give will go help someone else live.
What if no one donated blood? Then, we would not have blood to treat the seriously wounded. Many lives would be lost.
Thankfully, there are people out there willing to give of themselves so that others can be saved.
There is a higher demand for blood in the summertime because there are more accidents with more serious injuries during this time of the year.
Officials organizing Tuesday's blood drive said that the need for blood is higher than it's ever been. The drive will be held from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Russellville City Hall auditorium. Everyone who can give blood is encouraged to go and give the gift of life. We hope to see you there because you never know whose life you might save.
