Time to move on – at least for a while

With the close of the polls last night, a long hard political season came to an end.
There is more to come with the general election ahead in the fall, but the party primaries are now decided and each county resident knows who their candidates will be in November.
All of the candidates have done an admirable job campaigning and obviously the people of the county thought highly enough of them that they were able to move into yesterday's run-off.
Now lies a few months of unrest and what may be the calm before another storm – or what is known as the general election.
This primary has been about many things that brought tough questions for candidates. Some were about issues that weren't really issues at all.
Political candidates often find themselves in the middle of discussions that they truly don't deserve to be in.
It is our hope that the county can move forward in a positive way looking for answers to questions that really are there, not scrambling into issues that are out of our control.
