    Evie Lindley Duncan, age 86, of Guin, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008. at Golden Living Center in Winfield. She was born June 9, 1922 in Red Bay to John W. and Dellie Self Lindley. She was a housewife and a Baptist.
    Funeral services were held on Friday, July 11, 2008 at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay with Rev. David Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    Ms. Duncan is survived by son, Jimmy "Craig" Duncan of Guin; step-daughter, Ima Jean Payne of Golden, Miss.; brother, Mancel Lindley of Armory, Miss. and five grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanders William Duncan and a son, William Duncan.
    Burnice Hellums
    July 10, 2008
    Burnice c. Hellums, age 79, of Memphis, Tenn. died on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at her residence.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joe Lenos officiating. Burial was in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
    Ms. Hellums is survived by sons, Don Hellums (Judy) of Southaven, Miss., Steven Hellums (Juila) of Germantown, Tenn.; grandchildren, Shawn Hellums (Jennifer), Nick Hellums (Joy), Stacey Hellums and Amy Hellums; great-grandchildren, Hayley Hellums, Samantha Hellums, and Brooklynn Hellums; sister, Deanie Ramsey of Daytona Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by husband, Herbert Hellums; father, Mansell Colburn and mother, Bessie Hester.
    Linda Deaton
    July 10, 2008
    Linda Ann Deaton, age 61, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Red Bay Hospital. She was born March 7, 1947 in Mississippi to George Winford and Fannie Bumpus McNeil. She was a seamstress for 20 years, a homemaker and a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were held Satuday, July 12, 2008 at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay with Bro. John Stockton officiating. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery in Dennis, Miss.
    Ms. Deaton is survived by husband, Henry Deaton of Red Bay; daughter, Misty Spencer (Charles) of Red Bay; grandson, Logan Spencer; step daughters, Lisa Tepper and Amanda Brazil, both of Red Bay; brother, Windell McNeil of Cornith, Miss., very special aunt, Imogene McCoy of Iuka, Miss; and six step grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Edward McClung; parents; and brother, Merl McNeil and Harold McNeil.
    Pallbearers for the service included Donald Deaton, Lester Deaton, Tim Deaton, Thomas Rhodes, Brandon Brazil, and Charles Holland.
    Wade Thorn
    July 11, 2008
    Wade "Goodsie" Thorn, age 72, of Golden, Miss. died July 11, 2008 at his residence. He was born April 13, 2936 in Vina to Grady White and Lela Mae Ledbetter Thorn. He was a truck driver for 32 years and a member of Golden Central Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ray Thorn; sister, Betty Rose Barron; and brothers, Grady "Mannie" Thorn and James Thorn.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Golden Central Baptist Church with Bro. Mickey Trammel officiating. Burial was in the Belmont City Cemetery.
    Mr. Thorn is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Thorn of Golden, Miss; children, Rex Thorn (Terri) and Jerry "Chubby" Thorn (Vicki), all of Golden, and Tonya Emerson (Tony) of Vina; grandchildren, Kim Brown (Matt), Lacey Thorn, Maegan Thorn, Matthew Thorn, Courtney Conwill and Hunter Emerson; sisters, Pauline Ginn of Golden, Miss,, Edith Minor of Chelsey, and Peggy Chism of Red Bay.
    Pallbearers for the service included Donald Gene Ray, Darrell Ray, Dale Ray, Richard McKinney, Gary Lindsey, and Byron Duncan. Honorary pallbearers included Sunshine Truck Drivers and Robert Elrod.

    Bertha Irene Gordon Nelson, age 85, of Sawyerville, died Saturday, July 12, 2008.
    Gravceside services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Mars Hill Cemetery.

    July 13, 2008
    Jason Wayne Ergle, age 25, of Russellville, died Sunday, July 13, 2008 due to an autormobile accident. He lived most of his life in Franklin County, and was an Army veteran and employed by Pilgrim's Pride Corporation.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Alvis Treece officiating. Burial will be in the Old Macedonia Cemetery in Lawrence County.
    Mr. Ergle is survived by son, Joseph Ergle of Chicago, Ill.; parents, Marvin and Jo Ergle; sister, Lisa Ergle of Haleyville; grandparents, Martina Ergle, Cecil Ergle, Maxine Frost, Irvin Frost; step-grandmother, Francis Ergle; niece, Jazmyn Ergle; nephew, Cedric Burke, Jr.; sister-in-law, Jacklynn Dupont; brother-in-law, Cedric Burke, sr.
    Pallbearers for the service will include Patrick Brennon, Robert Dalphit, Shane Garvin, Zack Williams, Thomas Presley and Scotty Wells.
