Vertie Jackson Harrison, 78, of Red Bay, died June 30, 2008, at the Care Center of Red Bay.
She was born June 29, 1930, in Franklin County to Cliff and Vera Hardy Jackson. She was a steamstress at Blue Bell and a member of Freedom Hills Holy Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie R.C. Harrison; her parents; brother, James Richard Jackson; sister, Martha Louise Conwill; and nephew, Donald Wayne Ray.
Funeral services were held July 2, 2008, at Deaton Funeral Home with Bro. Don Rouse and Bro. James Toone. Burial was in the Halltown Cemetery.
Ms. Harrison is survived by daughters, Brinda Wright (L.V.) of Vina, and Linda Webb of Red Bay; sons, Willie Joe Harrison (Deberah) of Red Bay; Billy Harrison (Renita) of Dennis, Miss., and Harold Harrison (Rebekah) of Vina; sisters, Bernice Scoby (David) of Imperial, Mo., Helen Ray (Jimmy) of Golden, Miss., and Faye Toone (James) of Trinity; brother, Ray Jackson of Tremont, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Yvonne Hyde was born Feb. 13, 1938, to Andrew J. and Eula Rice Lowery in Phil Campbell.
She died July 3, 2008. She was a graduate of Phil Campbell High School and attended the University of North Alabama, where she earned a degree in accounting. She was employed by Terry Miller, CPA, in Sheffield. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, where she served in a number of leadership capacities including the finance committee and Sunday school.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. until the start of the service.
Dr. John Brock and Rev. Chris Underwood will officiate the service. A private burial will be held at Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville.
Mrs. Hyde is survived by her husband of 48 years, Coach William C. "Bill" Hyde; cousins, Clara Rivers, Lanie Ruth Bailey, and Colleen Parker, all of Phil Campbell, Marlene Fretwell of Littleville, Linda Holt of Leighton, Harold Weeks and Billy Weeks, both of Muscle Shoals, Geneva Cole of Rogersville, Rabon Lowery of Florence, Edna Weeks Watson of Texas, and Carolyn Godsey of Birmingham.
Pallbearers will include Sam Graham, Clay Mize, Steve Winkle, Cody Gross, Steve Stewart and Steve Carter.
Honorary pallbearers are Coach Hyde's Sunday school class, the McDonald's Breakfast Bun, Terry Miller, Mark Bates and Coach Bobby Wallace.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville assisted the family.
