Bradford a 'superior' mascot

As children approached Libby Bradford on the Auburn University campus, she didn't know what to think when they asked for a picture.
"They thought I was Aubie," Bradford said, referring to the Auburn mascot.
Instead, she was an award-winning mascot of her own.
Bradford will begin her third year as the Russellville High School mascot, Champ, this fall.
She recently received a trophy for superior rating, ribbons and two spirit sticks during the Universal Cheerleading Association camp at Auburn.
"We had to do a lot of things," Bradford said.
The seven mascots at the camp had to perform, dance and interact with others while in costume, but without speaking.
Bradford is a familiar sight along the Golden Tiger sidelines at football and basketball games each year.
"It is just fun," she said. "You get to act crazy and joke around with everybody."
Her performance has not gone unnoticed as children often stop for photos with Champ during ball games.
"It is something I really like doing," she said.
