Vina man arrested on drug charges

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department arrested a man Thursday who they say was making drugs in the presence of two small children.
Frank Shotts, 25, of 391 Barker Road in Vina, was charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and chemical endangerment to a child, which is a new law recently put into place.
Officials said the arrest was made in Red Bay Thursday after investigators with the district attorney's office got involved and helped locate him.
Authorities believe Shotts was producing drugs while two small children were living at his residence.
He is being held in the county jail.
