Gas prices hitting us everywhere
By Staff
With a casual trip to the mailbox this month, many residents are learning that natural gas prices will be going up soon.
It is an increase that will hit many people on their utility bills, especially if the prices do not decrease a great deal before winter and the gas heaters begin working.
Gas prices have already made the cost of foods and many other materials rise dramatically. Why not hit us hard at homeas well?
The increase certainly is in no fault of our local utility departments, it is simply a by-product of the high costs of fuel that hits us everyday.
It is a problem that they face daily too.
But there has to be some solution.
Whatever that may turn out to be, people across the nation will be hard hit until that answer is found.
Rural areas much like Franklin County will most certainly feel the crunch as much or more than anyone as we move forward.
Hopefully our national leaders will soon find an answer to this plague before it gets us all.
If it already hasn't.
