East Franklin Junior High School recently held its annual athletic awards banquet to honor the cheerleading, basketball, softball and baseball teams.
Listed below are the individual award winners:
Girls basketball – Sam Elkins (Most Improved Defensive Player), Kendra Baker (MVP, Most Steals, Best FT Percentage), Ciara Harville (Best FT Percentage, Most Defensive Rebounds), Autumn Thomas (100 Percent Award, Most Offensive Rebounds) and Mattie Benford (Most Improved Player).
A-team basketball – Daniel Bagwell (Most Improved Player), Brent Whitten (Best Defensive Player), Rick Miller (Best Offensive Player), Trevor Hodge (100 Percent Award), Jordan Benford (Leadership Award) and Cory Alexander (MVP, Best FT Percentage).
Cheerleading – Mattie Benford (2 years), Autumn Thomas (1 year), Brittany Cheatham (1 year award), Leanell Hill (1 year) and Katie Hardy (1 year).
B-team basketball – Brent Whitten (100 percent award), Chris Frost (Most Improved Player), Cory Potter (Best Defensive Player) and Skeeter Benford (MVP, Best Offensive Player, Best FT Percentage).
Baseball – Brent Whitten (Best Defensive Player), Rick Miller (Best Batting Average, Best On-Base Percentage) and Cory Alexander (100 Percent Award).
Softball – Ciara Harville (Best On-Base Percentage), Mattie Benford (Highest Batting Average), Michaela Gable (Team Captain, 100 Percent Award) and Leanell Hill (Most Improved Player).
