James N. Davis, 89, of Red Bay, died Feb. 18 at Red Bay Hospital.
He was born Dec. 23, 1918 in Itawamba County, Miss. to Earl and Evie Nix Davis. He was owner of a gas station for many years and a member of First Baptist Church of Red Bay. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Flora Ann Davis, and three brothers, J.R. Davis, Prince Davis and Russell Davis.
Funeral services were held Feb. 20 with Bro. Douglas Wells and Bro. Coye Marbutt officiating.
Burial followed at Red Bay City.
Survivors include wife, Dezzie Davis, of Red Bay; daughters, Ouida Hammock (Scotty) and Shirley Oliver (Mike), all of Red Bay; son, Jerry N. Davis, of Red Bay; brothers, Jack Davis, of Red Bay and Billy Davis, of Zion, Ill.; sisters, June Wood, of Red Bay, Mary Sue Long, of Hernando, Miss. and Jenny Cournoyer, of Miami; grandchildren, Gina Raper, Tony Horton, Tammy Duncan, Pamela Bolding, Richard Hammock, Nicholas Davis and Chase Davis; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Richard Hammock, Tony Horton, Mike Oliver, Nicholas Davis, Byron Duncan and Tim Bolding. Honorary pallbearer will be Chase Davis.
Jerry Lindon Scott

Jerry Lindon Scott, 64, of Corinth, Miss., died Feb. 17 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth.
He was born August 30, 1943 in Franklin County to Hubert and Nova Baggett Scott. He was a truck driver for more than 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Scott, his mother and his grandparents.
Graveside services were held Feb. 18 at Roland Mills Cemetery with Bro. Billy Credille officiating.
Survivors include his father, Hubert Scott (Lera), of Red Bay; sons, Kenneth Scott, of Dorsey, Miss. and Michael Scott and Tim Scott, both of Fulton, Miss.; daughter, Kathy Scott, of Fulton; sister, Sunny Holland, of Golden, Miss.; brother, Ray Scott, of Memphis; step-daughter, Angela Elam (Frankie), of Corinth; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Waymon Lavon Wallace

Waymon Lavon Wallace, 69, died Feb. 17 at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Nov. 10, 1938 in Lawrence County to James Rufus and Nellie Pauline Burden Wallace. He was a police officer for the City of Red Bay, Moulton and the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
Services were held Feb. 21 at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Nichols officiating. Burial followed at Red Bay City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Wallace, of Golden, Miss.; sons, Waymon Wallace (Phyllis), of Moulton, Jackie Wallace (Rita), of Trinity and David Grimes, Jr. (Tonia), of Lebanon, Tenn.; daughter, Dana Nichols (Michael), of Red Bay; brothers, Eugene Wallace, of Maynard, Mass., Charles Wallace, of Waynesboro, Penn. and Jimmy Wallace, of Decatur; sister, Doris Harkrider, of Decatur; 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.
Pallbearers were Pete Elrod, Charlie Hicks, Jackie Hicks, Hollis Hicks, Jonathan Wallace and Joshua Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Gibson and Darrel Little.
James H. Barker

James H. Barker, 78, of Red Bay, died Feb. 16 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He was born April 27, 1929 in Vina to James and Mattie Kidd Barker. He worked as an assembler at Daybrite Lighting, was a member of the Church of Christ and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Barker, his parents and a son, Keith Barker.
Services were held Feb. 19 with Bro. Tom Scott officiating. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include daughters, Rhonda Altom (Mike), of Tupelo and Lesia Barker, of Corinth; sister, Margaret Lipe, of Augusta, Geo.; brother, Buddy Barker, of Vina; grandchildren, Derrick Gasaway, Matt Gasaway, Kim Hacker, Bridget Whitaker, Michael Altom, Melissa Earp and Meagan Robinson; 12 great-grandchildren, Chelsey Hacker, Zack Hacker, Hannah Gasaway, Jonathan Whitaker, Devon Whitaker, Tyler Whitaker, Gavin Earp, Garren Earp, Gage Earp, Eli Robinson, Michaela Robinson and Anna Belle Robinson.
Pallbearers were Hayes Altom, Matthew Gasaway, Wayne Parrish, Joey Whitaker, Scotty Gasaway and Michael Altom.

Doyal Gene Dodd, 66, of Haleyville, passed away Feb. 22 at his home. He was born in Marion County.
Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with David Parker and Frank Desiderio officiating. Burial followed in Thornhill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Akers Dodd; son, Tommy Dodd and wife, Lori; daughters, Lisa Parker and husband, David and Norma Miller and husband, Danny; sister, Kathy Campbell and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Brandy Hulsey and husband, Kyle, Jeff Parker, Bradley Miller and Daniel Miller; grant-grandchildren, Tori Parker and Parker Hulsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Nina Lena; son, Doyal Dodd, Jr.; an infant daughter; step-son, Jimmy Miller; brothers, Jerry and Paul Dodd.

Marvline Louise Ledlow passed away Feb. 21 at Lakeland Community Hospital at the age 84. She was a member of the South Haleyville Church of God of the First Born.
Funeral services were held Feb. 23 at South Haleyville Church of God of the First Born with Harold Johnson, Royce Brimer and Lowell Sartin officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.
She is survived by brothers, Jimmy Allen and Billy Dale Allen; sisters, Eller Sartin, Kay Francis Robertson, Annie Lou Fortner and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dolphus Ledlow; parents, Delmar and Lillie Allen; brothers, Junior, John Lee and J.C. Allen; sisters, Cornelia Mae Loveless and Alice Contey.

Irene Marie Cole, 85, of Haleyville, passed away Feb. 22. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Haleyville.
Funeral services were held Feb. 25 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Dr. Jim Cooley and Dr. T.B. Stringfellow officiating. Burial followed at Corinth Heights Cemetery.
She is survived by son, Wayne (Wanda) Cole, of Vinemont; sister, Hazel Norton, of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Michelle Cole, of Haleyville, Tammy (Kevin) Brown, of Cullman; great-grandchildren, Michael Cole and Alexis Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loan and Rosa Gravitt; husband, Hosmer Oscar Cole and several brothers and sisters.

Robert Lendon Pinkard, of Phil Campbell, passed away Feb. 22 at Walker Baptist Hospital in Jasper. He was a native of Franklin County and a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Feb. 25 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Carl James officiating. Burial followed in East Franklin Cemetery. He is survived by wife, Ruth Ann Pinkard; children, Laurie Harbin, Sandra McDaniel, Teresa Trousdale; brothers and sisters, Artie Vee Kiser, Truby Jack, Leon Pinkard, Leo Pinkard and Danny Pinkard; grandchildren, Joey Harbin, Tanya Hood, Josh Pinkard, Anthony Pinkard, Rachel Miller, Jonathan Baugus; great-grandchildren, Brooke Harbin, Lexie Harbin, Titus Hood.

Elmer Junior "Bugs" Lambert, of Haleyville, passed away at the age of 75 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham Feb. 22.
He was born in Iuka and a veteran of the Korean War.
Services were held Feb. 25 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Hugh Cavender officiating. Burial followed in Frost Chapel Cemetery.
He is survived by his children, DeRenda Lambert, Denise Brannon and husband, Dennis and Gary Lambert; brothers and sisters, Betty Tigner, James Lee Lambert and wife, Chestine, Edgar Lambert and wife, Betty, Billy Alton Lambert and wife, Loretta, Brenda Gilchrist and husband, L.C., Randal Lambert and Sharon Ledbetter, W.T. Dan Lane, 67, Russellville, Alabama passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at Russellville Hospital.
Mr. Lane lived most of his life in Franklin County and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a retired sheet metal worker and member of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 48.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville with Eddie Wix officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Survivors include children, Darrell Lane and wife, Janet, Danna Harbin and husband, Danny, Tim Lane, Tammy Robbins and husband, Kenny, Melissa Johnson and husband, Len; sisters, Marguerite Nicholson, Shirley Franks; brother, Gresham Lane; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews; John Lane, Michael Lane, Mitch Lane, Doug Nicholson, Ronnie Wray and Hite Lane.
He was preceded in death by parents, John T. and Effie Lane; seven brothers; and six sisters.

Steve Adams

Stephen Bryan Adams, 57, of Russellville, was born to Howard Francis and Edna Elizabeth (Eschler) Adams on July 24, 1950, at Wichita Falls, TX, and departed this life in Little Rock, AR, on February 24, 2008.
Steve grew up at Cookietown, OK, graduating from Big Pasture High School in 1968. He then went on to receive his bachelor's degree in education from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK. He then made his home in Burkburnett, TX, where he taught in high school for 2 years. He eventually went to work for Certain-Teed in Wichita Falls.
Steve married Leslie Evans in November of 1987 at Wichita Falls, TX, where they made their home until transferring to Russellville, Alabama in August 2001. There he had been manager of Saint-Gobain, a glass mat manufacturing plant, until having to retire in June of 2007 due to ill health.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Russellville, AL.
Through the years Steve had enjoyed flying, receiving his pilot's license as a teenager, spending time with his family and going on mission trips to Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie, of the home; 1 son, Chad Adams and his wife Kim of Mustang, OK; 2 daughters, Katie and Beth Adams of Russellville, AL; 2 brothers and their wives, Roger and Mary Adams of Burkburnett, TX and Kirby and Joyce Adams of Hastings, OK; 1 granddaughter, Makennah Adams; many other relatives and friends.
