Let your voice be heard

For years you've probably seen commercials with various celebrities telling you how important it is to get out and vote. That sort of trivializes an important point: It's important to vote.
This year Alabama lawmakers moved the state's primary election up five months, hoping it would make the state relevant in the selection process.
If voter turnout doesn't improve over years past, that effort will all be for nothing.
It's debatable that it will have any affect one way or another, but the effort has been made to show national candidates that Alabama has a voice, something that has been overlooked for many years.
We encourage each of you to register to vote if you haven't. Those of you who are registered, we encourage you to cast a ballot.
The only way your votes aren't taken for granted is if we start showing up at the polls in force. And, that's something Alabamians haven't done in a long time.
