Three shows left for 'Radio Gals'

Three performances remain for the Bay Tree Council for the Performing Arts' third and final production of the season, Radio Gals, a musical directed by Margie Beck.
The play will be performed tonight and Saturday night at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Arts and Entertainment Center in Red Bay. Tickets are $8 each and are on sale at the Arts and Entertainment center in Red Bay. You may go by to purchase your tickets or call 256-356-9829.
The action takes place on a warm spring day in the parlor of retired school teacher Hazel Hunt's home in Cedar Ridge, Arkansas. It is the late 1920's, well before "The Crash". Hazel broadcasts a daily radio show filled with the musical antics of her former students. A Federal Radio Inspector comes to town, who is intent on rescuing the airwaves from Hazel. Mr. Abbott falls prey to the enticing Hazlenuts and it turns out he has a fine voice, quite a musician and in the course of things even falls for one of the girls. The actors include: Juli Marin-Hazel Hunt, Phoebe White Hill-Gladys Fritts, Andy Betterton-O.B. Abbott, Jan Ingle-Rennabelle Hatch, Deerissa (Dee) Batchelor- Azilee Swindle, Amy Johnson- Mable Swindle, Rebecca Wilson as America and Mary Dyer-Edna Jones. Stage manager is Mary Dyer and assistant stage manager Morgan Beck. Accompanists: Brian Beck-piano, Ken Stovall-strings and horn, Linda Stovall-Percussion, and choreographer-Patty Kilpatrick Hussey.
