Have ‘Mercy'…

On Thursday, a standing-room-only crowd gathered in the cafeteria of Russellville Hospital to find out who would win the 2006 Mercy Award, the highest honor an employee can earn with LifePoint Hospitals, Inc.
The award went to Sheila Kimbrough, RN, a hospital employee since 1983.
The Mercy Award was created to honor outstanding individuals for their commitment to excellence. It is given annually in honor of Scott L. Mercy, founding chief executive officer of LifePoint Hospitals, Inc.
Mercy died in an aviation accident in 2000.
The award commends individuals whose daily dedication and care-giving inspires others with their compassion, dedication and merciful spirit. Kimbrough was one of eight hospital employees to be nominated for the award by co-workers.
Upon receiving the award, Kimbrough thanked the staff and the other nominees.
Stewart recognized the other Mercy Award nominees for their contributions and presented each with a trophy and a commendation. The other nominees were:
