Betty Faust, Della Swinney Underwood

Betty Faust, age 73, of Red Bay, passed away Monday, March 27, 2006, at ECM Hospital.
Mrs. Faust was born October 24, 1932, in Itawamba County, Mississippi, to Lee and Eulalia Montgomery. She was co-owner of Faust Drugs and Gift Shop in Red Bay for 38 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Red Bay Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Faust; and her parents.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill and Bro. Jerry Swimmer officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Shane Montgomery, Steve Ratliff, Lee Ratliff, Matt Montgomery, Rodney Forrest and Dallas Brand. Honorary bearers were Charles Montgomery and W.M. &#8220Sonny” Thompson.
Mrs. Faust is survived by three children, Mike Faust of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kathy Ratliff and husband Steve, of Belmont, Mississippi, and Carole Montgomery and husband Shane, of Red Bay; one brother, Billy H. Montgomery of Tupelo, Mississippi; and five grandchildren, Lee Ratliff and Lacey Ratliff, both of Belmont, Lauren Faust of Corpus Christi, and Melanie Montgomery and Matt Montgomery, both of Red Bay.
Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
Della Swinney Underwood, age 104, formerly of Russellville, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006, at the Robertsdale HealthCare Center in Robertsdale, Alabama.
Mrs. Underwood was a native of Phil Campbell and a member of the Church of Christ. She received several awards while serving as a foster grandparent for 21 years in the Russellville school system. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother with a great faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; and a son, Maynard Underwood.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Spry Memorial Chapel of Russellville with funeral services immediately following in the chapel. Officiating at the service will be Eddie Caskey and Carl Gilbert. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be John Woods, Jesse Pettite, G.C. Swinney, Billy Herring, Campbell McLean IV and Tom Underwood. Honorary bearers will be Wyan Wells, Bobby Robinson, George Humphries, Keith Massey, A.J. Underwood and Charles Fann.
Mrs. Underwood is survived by one daughter, Mary Edna Turbyfill and husband Joe, of Orange Beach; one daughter-in-law, Robbie Underwood of Columbus, Mississippi; four granddaughters, Pamela Woods and husband John, of Clinton, Mississippi, Sherry Pettite and husband Jesse, of Atlanta, Dana McLean and husband Campbell, of Tampa, Florida, and Diahn Brauss and husband Kevin, of Tampa, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Allison and Hannah of Mississippi, and Madison and Avery of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
