Caveat emptor is the Latin phrase for a term as old as the times-"Buyer beware."
Unfortunately, those words are now having to be sent by Russellville city school administrators.
West Elementary principal Ramona Robinson said that she has learned of an ongoing scam in which a student at the school has been selling candy bars in the community under false pretenses.
Robinson became aware of the scam when a local doctor's office called to check the validity of the sales.
She said that the child has apparently gone door-to-door selling the candy, saying that it was for an elementary school fund-raiser.
If anyone has been approached in recent days about candy sales from the school, please contact Ramona Robinson at West Elementary or contact the Russellville schools central office.
