Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Harrison of DeKalb announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Kate, to Jimmy Wayne McGowen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy McGowen of DeKalb and the late Carolyn McGowen.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at 6 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church.
Miss Harrison is the granddaughter of Opal Harrison of Amory and the late Jack D. Harrison and Mr. and Mrs. Dan McWilliams of DeKalb and the late Viva McWilliams.
The bride-elect, a graduate of Kemper Academy, received an associate's degree from East Mississippi Community College and an associates degree in physical therapy assistance from Meridian Community College.
While attending MCC, she was a member of HOSA.
Miss Harrison is employed by Mid South Rehab Services in DeKalb as a physical therapist assistant.
Mr. McGowen is the grandson of Grace Cannon of DeKalb and the late Ray Cannon and the late Ralph and Mildred McGowen.
The bridegroom-elect, a graduate of Kemper Academy, received an associates degree from East Mississippi Community College and a bachelor's degree in forestry from Mississippi State University.
While attending MSU, he was a member of the Forestry Club.
Mr. McGowen is employed by Timber Craft Inc. and Mississippi Plantation Services.
A reception will be held at DeKalb Baptist Church following the ceremony.
