Gartman returns to Enterprise with new team

ENTERPRISE It's finally here.
Since Jud Gartman was named the head football coach at Clarkdale High School last spring, there has been a lot of talk about his return to L.J. Davis Field at Enterprise High School where he was first a player and then the head coach for 22 years.
It will be a battle of the Bulldogs this Friday night; however this time Gartman will be coaching from the visitor's side.
Both teams will be seeking their first victory over the season. Clarkdale dropped a 55-20 decision to West Lauderdale last Thursday, while Enterprise dropped a 27-20 decision to Southeast Lauderdale on Friday.
The Enterprise High football team also has had to go back to the drawing board.
The Bulldogs will have three players (two of them starters) out for this week's game. Center Jonathan Owens, cornerback Scott Mosley and defensive back Paris Johnson went down in last week's loss at Southeast.
Justin Morris, who has played center in the past, will fill in for Owens.
Cedric Burns, who rushed for 72 yards last week at West Lauderdale, heads the Clarkdale offensive attack at tailback. Blake Johnson is the quarterback while Jack Norton handles the fullback position and Chris Sirven is the wingback. Joel Speed played for coach Gartman in 1980 and 1981, and later returned to Enterprise as his assistant coach for several seasons. Even though they are now rivals, Speed counts Gartman as a good friend.
