Thirsk, McBride

Sabra Ann McBride became the bride of Kevin Mark Thirsk in a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, July 17, 2004, at First Baptist Church, Butler, Ala. The Rev. Micah Gandy officiated.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William R. McBride of Butler, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Herring and Mr. and Mrs. John R. Thrisk Jr. of Fernandina Beach, Fla.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Vernon G. McBride Sr. of Butler and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Houlditch of Mt. Sterling, Ky.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. John R. Thirsk of Fernandina Beach and Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Keene of Woodbine, Ga.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Susie Morgan of Butler, organist. Vocalist was Destin Smith of Destin, Fla.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown with a sculptured neckline and beaded straps. The fitted, dropped waistline bodice was overlaid with an intricate floral-embroidered pattern and crystal beading. The skirt of the multi-layered tulle ball gown featured scattered embroidered flowers, which also decorated the detachable chapel-length tulle train.
For her headpiece, the bride wore a waist-length veil with satin trim, held in place with a pearl-accented comb. She carried a cascade of roses, orchids and callalilies. Attending the bride as maid of honor was Ashley Hand of Butler. Bridesmaids were Leigh Anne Shipper of Fort Smith, Ark; Elizabeth Lott of Birmingham; and Kayla Houlditch of Butler, cousin of the bride.
Katlin Webb of Butler served as flower girl.
Travis Lee of Fernandina Beach served as best man. Groomsmen were Keith Newlin of Fernandina Beach; Will McBride of Butler, brother of the bride; and Cory Chavers of Livingston, Ala.
Ringbearer was Lee McBride of Butler, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Dusty Prine of Deerpark, Ala; Allen Waters and Ryan Houlditch, both of Butler and cousins of the bride; and Martin Bailey of Demopolis, Ala.
A reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church following the ceremony. Bridal table attendants were Cari Brannan, Mandy Mosley, Brittany Powell, Kasey Shannon, Megan Hand, Jenny Ryan, Shelly Hathaway and Angelique Lee.
Bird seed and program servers were Bethany Miller of Jackson Gap, Ala., Lindsey and Rachel Dover of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Jake and Landon Houlditch of Linden, Ala, all cousins of the bride.
The wedding was directed by Melanie Brannan of Butler.
After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple resides in Butler.
