Humane Society in need of volunteers

The Lauderdale County Humane Society found homes for 10 dogs and seven cats at its last adoption day held at Bonita Lakes Mall.
Paula Joyner, vice president of the organization, said she appreciated the publicity, the volunteers and the mall all of which made the adoption day successful.
The Humane Society partnered with Lauderdale County last month to house pets at the Lauderdale County Animal Control Shelter. Joyner said the Humane Society is looking for more volunteers for the nonprofit organization and for help in setting up an office.
The Humane Society will hold a meeting Tuesday from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. in the conference room next to McRae's Department Store inside Bonita Lakes Mall.
Animals may be adopted from the Lauderdale County Humane Society at the Lauderdale County Animal Control Shelter, at 501 Cooper Ave., from 10 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Dogs that have been spayed or neutered may be adopted for $50. Cats that have been spayed or neutered may be adopted for $25.
