Tillman Jenkins, 69, of Clarke County, was recovering at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center today after he was shot by a Clarke County sheriff's deputy at about 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
Sheriff's Deputy Mike Jeffco said today that fellow Deputy Barry White went to Jenkins' home to serve him with a misdemeanor assault warrant.
After Jenkins answered the door, Jeffco said, the man pulled a gun on White. Jeffco said the deputy then drew his gun and shot Jenkins.
Jeffco did not say where Jenkins was shot or what his condition is. The shooting remains under investigation by the Clarke County Sheriff's Department.
