Services for Keith David Gresham will be held today at 3 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. David Meadows and Randy Scarbrough officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Gresham, 39, of Meridian, died Thursday, July 8, 2004, in Choctaw County, Ala. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, golf, boating and he loved animals.
Survivors include his parents, the Rev. James E. and Jean Gresham of Meridian; a sister, Sissy Ellsworth and her husband, Garry; a brother, Jerry W. Gresham; a nephew, Matthew Ellsworth and a niece, Kimberly Ellsworth, all of Meridian and an aunt, Ann Wayland, of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James E. "Jimmy" Gresham Jr. and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jolly and Mr. and Mrs. Fern Gresham.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio, 44720.
Pallbearers will be Jay Hancock, Chuck Hartfield, Ed Brewer, Doug Deweese, Everett Webster and Thomas K. Dobbins.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Services for Clara Holmes will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Sephus Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Holmes, 71, of Meridian, died Friday, July 9, 2004, in Quitman. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Mike Holmes and his wife Angie of Meridian; daughters, Brenda Carney and Frances Davidson and her husband Jimmy, all of Meridian; grandchildren, Terry Wayne Davidson, Brian Lee Davidson, Daniel Wade Carney and Adam Michael Carney; great-grandchildren, Heather Lynn Davidson, Austin Jake Davidson and Martin Tucker Davidson; and a brother, William "Bo" Rutledge of Meridian.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rutledge, Jimmy Davidson, Terry Davidson, Brian Davidson, Adam Carney and Ellis Carney.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Samuel Perry Tindle will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mosley Bridge Congregational Methodist Church, with the Revs. Clyde Dykes and Dwayne Mayo officiating. Burial will be in Barrytown Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tindle, 86, of Gilbertown, died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at his home.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Nordan Tindle.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Billie Frances Wheat Gilliland will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Brannon Pinion of First Baptist Church of Reform officiating. Burial will be in Butler CIty Cemetery.
Mrs. Gilliland, 38, died Thursday, July 8, 2004.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck Gilliland of Butler; brothers, Jamie H. Ashe and his wife Darlene of Bellamy and David V. Ashe and his wife Patsy of Opp; a sister, Jo Jennifer Norstedt and her husband Mark of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Holifield of Cuba.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Bascorn Wheat and Billie Bess Corder.
Memorials may be made to the Billie Gilliland Nursing School Scholarship Fund at West Alabama Bank.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at David Skelton's Funeral Home in Reform, and on Sunday from noon-3 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home.
MONESSEN, Pa. Services for Loretta G. Myers Read will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Rhome Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Pennsville Cemetery in Connellsville.
Mrs. Read, of Meridian, formerly of Monessen, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Eileen Tucker of Meridian; a son, Bruce L. Read of Michigan; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Verda Jane Williams of Belle Vernon and a sister-in-law, Alice Myers of Monessen and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Mary Pahel Myers; her husband, Eric S. Read and brothers, Chester Myers and Clifford Myers.
Visitation will be Sunday from noon-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
YORK, Ala. Graveside services for Raymond Jack Smith will be held Monday at 11:45 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla. with the Rev. Horne officiating. Bumpers Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith, 75, of Bellamy, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Smith of Bellamy; daughters, Betty Marie Smith of Richmond, Va. and Cynthia Rose Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.
Mr. Verdugo, 51, of Meridian, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Comparsi; sisters, Rusty and Michelle and his mother, Tommie Finlay and one grandson and several other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Verdugo of San Pedro, Calif. and a brother, Bobby Finlay.
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Earline Collins, 77, of Stonewall, who died Friday, July 9, 2004, at the Speciality Hospital of Meridian.
