West Lauderdale wins at Dixie Youth tourney in Center Hill

West Lauderdale battled back from an early deficit to take an 8-2 victory over East Mississippi and moved into the winners' bracket of the Dixie Youth District Four Minor League Tournament at Center Hill field on Monday night.
In the late game, Philadelphia blew away West Side National 17-3.
In tonight's action, West Side and East Mississippi will play at 6 p.m. while Philadelphia will take on West Lauderdale around 7:30 p.m.
In the first game on Monday, West Lauderdale scored the final eight runs of the game to pick up the victory.
East Mississippi jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
Wesley Fagan doubled to start the inning and Devon Stone walked. After a walk by Hunter Thrower, Tyler Dearman delivered a two-run single to make the score 2-0.
West Lauderdale answered with a run in the second inning. Grant Hill singled to start the inning. After a strikeout and a fielder's choice, Trey Davis singled in a run to make the score 2-1.
West Lauderdale then scored two runs in the third inning to take the lead.
Jason Lashane singled and Warren Trussell walked. After an error, Brett Daugherty walked to bring in a run. Lucas Leeper singled in the second run of the inning to make the score 3-2.
West added four runs in the fourth inning as Chase Stamper singled in a pair of runs and Davis doubled in a run. The other run in the inning scored on a fielder's choice.
West Lauderdale secured the victory with a run in the fifth inning. Caleb Carpenter singled and scored on a triple by Leeper to make the score 8-2.
Leeper and Trussell combined to shut down East Mississippi over the final four innings and West Lauderdale picked up the 8-2 win.

West Side 3
Philly jumped out to an early lead over West Side and cruised to a 17-3 win on Monday night.
Philly scored six runs in the first inning, led by a double by Ricky Thompson and a singles by Joel Huntley and Barret Dudley.
West Side answered with a run as Deonte Eiland doubled and scored on a double by Marcus Horne.
Philly stretched the lead to 10-1 with four runs in the second inning. Philadelphia took advantage of West Side errors to pad the lead.
West Side scored a run in the third on a single by Eiland and scored a run in the fourth inning.
Philly scored a run in the fourth and used walks in the fifth to pour on six more runs to take the 17-3 victory.
