Remy named Mississippi's small business champion
The National Federation of Independent Business recently named Margaret Remy as Mississippi's Small Business Champion for 2003-2004.
Owner of Quick Prints, a photo imaging lab in Meridian, Remy was nominated for the first-ever award by the NFIB/Mississippi Leadership Council.
The program recognizes a small business activist in each of the 50 states who has participated in NFIB activities identifying small-business issues and then sending those messages to elected leaders.
The state champions will be recognized and seven regional winners will be honored at the 2004 NFIB Small Business Summit in Washington, D.C., in June.
Meridian native finds success in Pensacola, Fla.
Meridian native Mal Williams and his brother-in-law Baker Clark were recently featured in the Pensacola News Journal.
Their business, the Five Flags Inn, was spotlighted as one of Pensacola's most successful beachside hotels. Williams and Clark purchased the business in 1993 and have watched it grow into a successful tourist lodging place just steps from the beach.
Williams is a 1976 graduate of West Lauderdale High School and worked in sales for Bill Ethridge Lincoln Mercury in Meridian. He resides in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Rutherford joins Citizens National Bank
Day Rutherford has joined Citizens National Bank's North Meridian Banking Centre as a bank officer specializing in consumer lending.
Rutherford comes to Citizens National from BankPlus in Meridian where she was employed since 1997. With 23 years of banking experience, Rutherford has also served as a bank manager and an assistant vice president at BankPlus.
Rutherford is an active member of Westwood Baptist Church where she leads the Children's Choir. She is also a member of the Lions Club.
She and her husband, Gerry, have two children, Lindsey, 10, and Trae, 9.
Tims receives Citizens National Bank promotion
Regina Tims has been promoted to financial service representative at Citizens National Bank's Bonita Lakes Banking Centre.
Tims has been employed with the bank for 13 years, and has experience as a customer service representative and a customer service supervisor. Tims is a member of the bank's audit team and is the retail sales manager for the Bonita Lakes office.
She and her husband, Tracy, reside in Meridian and are members of Bethel Baptist Church.
