Pickett, Durr

Tomecca Durr and Raymond Pickett, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Little Hope Baptist Church in Toomsuba with the Rev. Lamar Smith officiating.
Parents of the couple are Edna Durr of Toomsuba, the late John Durr of Meridian, Raymond Irby and Ethel Pickett, both of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Beatrice Powell of Toomsuba and the late K.T. Powell, and Robert Durr of Toomsuba and the late Annie Durr.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Charles and Lula Irby of Meridian, Leotis Pickett of Meridian and the late Flora Butchee.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Felicia Boyd, vocalist; and Jeffrey Hill, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her cousins, Willie Harrison and Timothy Jenkins.
She wore an white satin floor-length gown with an empire waistline. The gown was enhanced by appliques of pearls, hand sewn roses and a cathedral-length detachable train. Her double-layered veil was anchored by a headpiece of pearls and sequins. She carried a bouquet of two-dozen roses.
Maid of honor was Felicia Brown and matron of honor was Tomeca Page. Honorary maid of honor was Deanna Hawkins. Other attendants were Tamra Durr of Philadelphia, Kenjuana Durr of Detroit, Mich., Kiearra Durr of Toomsuba, Leslie Brown of Lauderdale, Hayleigh Gary, Saciyaah McCoy and Jastoshia Durr, all of Meridian.
De'Ausia Edwards of Meridian was flower girl.
Fred Rush Sr. of Meridian was best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Demetrus Durr of Meridian, Tievo Durr of Toomsuba, Jermaine Page, Fred Rush Jr., Santarius Stidmon, Marcus Wallace II, Demetrus Durr Jr. and Deontrae Pickett, all of Meridian, Rodriquez Hopson of Detroit, Terry Pickens of Philadelphia and Terrell Palmer of Meridian.
A reception was held at Merrehope following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Irene Harrison, Eliza Phillips, Tiffany Rogers, Sadeca Jordan and friends and family of Central Mississippi Family Health Clinic. Mary Trussell of Lauderdale assisted at the wedding.
The couple resides in Meridian.
