Retired owner of Adkins Grocery
HOUMA, La. Services for Johnnie Kilpatrick Adkins were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Christ Baptist Church in Houma with the Rev. John C. Baye Jr. officiating. Burial was to be in St. Francis De Sales Cemetery No. 2. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Adkins, 79, of Houma, formerly of Union, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at Terrbonne General Medical Center in Houma.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Adkins Norred and her husband, Donnie, of Houma; sisters, Earline K. Pittman of Utica and Bernice K. Dees of Philadelphia; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess W. Adkins; her parents, Lemmie Kilpatrick and Pearl Musgrove Kilpatrick; and a brother, Ernest Kilpatrick.
Retired forester
PHILADELPHIA Services for George James Williams will be held today at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Rick Holbert officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Mr. Williams, 80, of Philadelphia, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia. He was born in Okolona on July 26, 1923. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He married his high school sweetheart, Jean Davis Nelson in 1947.
He graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor's degree in forestry in 1950 and worked as a forester in Mississippi until he retired in 1992.
Survivors include his daughters, Kay Williams Hamill of Philadelphia and Jamie Williams Rebentisch of Houston, Texas; a son, Bill Williams of Winona; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jean N. Williams; a brother, Wes Williams; and a sister, Zelda Williams Mabry.
Pallbearers will be Graham Hamill, Dr. Billy Williams, Wes Hamill, Bill Stephens, Doug Hamill and George Hayes Duett.

UNION Services for Luther Davis "L.D." Sharp will be held today at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Fondren officiating. Burial will be in Pinckney Cemetery in Newton County.
Mr. Sharp, 81, of Union, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at Central Mississippi Medical Center. He was former owner and operator of Sharp's Auto Parts in Union and former sheriff of Newton County. He will be remembered by his friends and family as a loving man. He was a member of Pinckney Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Gayle McCarty and her husband, Michael, of Raymond; grandsons, Davis McCarty and his wife, Stacy, of Summit and Lee McCarty of Raymond; two great-grandchildren, Jacob McCarty and Kaytlyn McCarty; sisters, Addie Lee Vance of Jackson and Bonnie Lehman of Destin, Fla.; a special friend, Lois Griffis of Union; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Sharp; brothers, Elvin and Thurman Sharp; sisters, Arlee Freeman, Boots Stamper and Edna Bee Sistrunk.
Memorials may be made to Pinckney Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or a charity of choice.
Pallbearers will be Davis "Chubby" Sharp, P.J. Henry, Ralph Gordon, Kenneth Jones, Max Sessums, Wayne Welch and Ronnie Page.
Services for Theresa Glenn Bagley will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Bagley, 47, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
