Mayor of Alba, Texas
ALBA, Texas Services for Owen Reynolds will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Alba with the Revs. Robert Stovall and Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reynolds, 57, of Alba, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, in Tyler. He was born in Mobile, Ala., and lived in Meridian, Miss., for 11 years before moving to Alba 18 years ago. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alba and was a general contractor in the construction business. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Gaby Reynolds of Alba; sons, Shane Reynolds of Payne Springs and Scott Reynolds of Alba; a half-brother, David Cubbage of Lucedale, Miss.; three sisters, Gloria Gagliano of Orange Beach, Ala., Malinda Adcock and Amy Butler, both of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Clifton and Freddie Mae McAllister Reynolds Sr.; a brother, Frederick Reynolds; and a son, Daniel Reynolds.
QUITMAN Services for Willie Lee Clark will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie C. Hood Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Musgrove Cemetery.
Mr. Clark, 62, of Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his son, Willie Lee Clark Jr. and a daughter, Crystal A. Clark, both of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Laura Donald, Betty Clark and Bertha Dillard, all of Stonewall, Mary Gandy of Shubuta, Ruth Alford of Meridian and Ruby Alford of Quitman; brothers, Johnny L. Clark of Columbus, Ohio, Frank Clark and Ollie R. Clark, both of Enterprise; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Retired
Services for Mary Wascom Brown will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown, 92, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was retired as vice president of Brown Furniture Company. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the former president of the Ernest Workers Circle.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Brown Houston of Southaven; sons, Glenn David Brown Sr. and his wife, Diane, of Meridian and Cecil C. Brown Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Jackson; sisters, Marie Rogers of Covington, La., and Margaret Wascom of Meridian; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil C. Brown Sr.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law, John Hopkins, John Houston, Glenn David Brown Jr., Chuck Brown, Maury Grice, Mickey Brown and Nathan Brown.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cosmetologist
Services for Martha Christine Butler Joyner will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jamie Lamoreaux officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Mrs. Joyner, 89, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, in Meridian. She was a member of Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxialliary.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha Quam and Donna Moring, both of Meridian, Gail Joiner and Judy O'Neil, both of Philadelphia; sons, Samuel Golden of Meridian and Jerry Golden of Collinsville; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Retired
SEBASTOPOL Services for Harmon Sam will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pearl River Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Ben officiating. Burial will be in Pearl River Community Center with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sam, 74, of Choctaw, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Choctaw Residential Center. He was retired from employment with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Williams and Sandra Nickey, both of Choctaw; a son, Brian Sam of Conehatta; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Ellis Sam of Choctaw.
Visitation will be held today at 10 a.m. at the family resident on Oswald Road.
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Fannie Benson, 72, of Meridian, who died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice.
